Amareyod Drops
Product properties
Dietary supplement for supporting thyroid function and preventing iodine deficiency in children and adults.
Instructions for use
Composition
1 ml contains 20 drops.
Each drop contains: Iodine, in the form of potassium iodide — 0.1 mg, 100 mcg; Folic acid — 0.2 mg, 200 mcg.
Excipients: Glycerin, guar gum, distilled water.
Pharmacological properties
Folic acid, vitamin B9, plays an important role in the synthesis of nucleic acids and in the conversion of essential amino acids. When folic acid is used before conception and in early pregnancy, the risk of neural tube defects in newborns is reduced. The need for folic acid salts increases especially during pregnancy due to embryogenesis and the rapid growth of the fetus.
Iodine, in the form of potassium iodide, contributes to the normal functioning of the thyroid gland and is a component of its hormones, thyroxine and triiodothyronine. Thyroid hormones are involved in the development of all organs and systems, in the regulation of metabolic processes in the body, are responsible for the metabolism of proteins, fats, carbohydrates and energy in the body, and regulate the activity of the brain, nervous and cardiovascular systems, reproductive and mammary glands, as well as the growth and development of the child.
Iodine deficiency is dangerous for children, adolescents, pregnant women and breastfeeding women. It prevents the development of endemic goiter and cretinism. The daily iodine requirement for children from birth to 6 years is 90–130 mcg, and from 7 to 12 years it increases to 130–150 mcg. For adolescents and adults, the recommended intake is 150–200 mcg, while the highest iodine requirement is in expectant and breastfeeding mothers, who need 250 to 300 mcg.
Indications
prevention and treatment of iodine and folic acid deficiency in women during pregnancy planning, pregnancy and lactation; prevention of intrauterine abnormalities in the development of the nervous system; prevention of impaired growth and puberty in adolescents; chronic fatigue, memory impairment; prevention of peripheral neuropathies and angiopathies in senile age; prevention of recurrence after therapeutic and surgical treatment of iodine-deficiency goiter; treatment of diffuse euthyroid goiter in newborns, children, adolescents and young adult patients; for the prevention and treatment of hypochromic and megaloblastic anemia.
Pregnancy and lactation. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the need for iodine and folic acid increases; therefore, the use of preparations containing 200 mcg of iodine and 400 mcg of folic acid is especially important. Potassium iodide crosses the placenta and passes into breast milk. If a breastfeeding woman takes potassium iodide, additional administration of the preparation to breastfed infants is not required. Use of the preparation during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible only at the recommended doses.
Method of use
When determining the required dose of Amareyod, regional and individual characteristics of iodine intake from food should be taken into account. This is especially important when prescribing the preparation to newborns and children under 4 years of age.
